We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer (L3) to join a leading international Managed Services Provider with a growing presence in Cape Town.

This opportunity is ideal for an established 3rd Line Engineer looking to take ownership of complex technical issues while contributing to infrastructure improvements and technical projects.

The successful candidate will provide advanced server, network, and desktop support, act as the technical escalation point for complex incidents, and assist with proactive maintenance, project delivery, and continuous service improvement.

Strong troubleshooting skills, ownership of incidents, and excellent customer communication are essential.

Key Responsibilities

* Log, manage, and update client incidents, requests, and service tickets within the ticket management system.

* Provide Level 3 technical support across server, network, and desktop environments, ensuring a high first-time fix rate.

* Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues escalated from internal support teams.

* Perform hardware installations, configurations, upgrades, and software deployments.

* Ensure client infrastructure remains secure, stable, and operational.

* Work within agreed service level agreements (SLAs), escalating risks where necessary.

* Produce and maintain accurate infrastructure and technical documentation.

* Take ownership of complex incidents through to successful resolution.

* Support infrastructure improvement initiatives and technical project delivery.

* Carry out additional technical tasks aligned with client support requirements and business objectives.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Proven experience operating at a 3rd Line Support level within an MSP or corporate IT environment.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including:

o TCP/IP

o OSI Model

o Layer 2 technologies (Switching & Wireless)

o IP Routing across multi-subnet environments

o Firewall configuration and maintenance

  • Strong Active Directory administration experience, including:

o Organisational Unit (OU) design

o Group Policy

o DNS & DHCP

o Sites, Subnets & Services

  • Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365 expertise, including:

o Microsoft Entra ID (SSO & SCIM Provisioning)

o Azure AD Connect

o Azure Virtual Machines

o Azure Networking

o Azure SQL Database Administration

o Azure App Services

o Conditional Access

  • Microsoft Defender experience, including:

o Defender for Cloud

o Defender for Endpoint

o Vulnerability Management
